Truck Detection at ROM Bin, Truck Dump Pocket


Application Conditions: Water dust suppression sprays, dust, build-up.

Level Technology Choice: To detect a reversing truck (a) An Acoustic low frequency 15 kHz transducer should be used for self cleaning purposes. It should be positioned high above the truck, looking into the tray. In this position, it is possible to detect the tray of the truck lifting and to switch on the water sprays, thereby saving water. Other level technologies such as Radar and Laser will be affected by dust and water spray build-up.

To detect a truck in position at the ROM Bin, (b) A Microwave send/receive switch can be positioned so that the truck breaks the beam, when in a tipping position. The Microwave switch is not affected by dust, vibration, and water sprays. Other technologies such as the 20 kHz Acoustic switch would also work in this application.
