Stockpile Level Monitoring

Service Conditions: Ore can vary from large lump to fines. High dust levels, high winds, rain, high Doppler affect with moving ore. Repose angle of Stockpile will vary with Ore size and moisture content. Ore level can change very quickly in some cases.

Level Technology Choice:  For this application we must use a non intrusive technology. Both Radar and Acoustic technology will work within reason. For high speed fill rates, the Acoustic transmitter will be the best option, as they can attain speed of response from 1-00m (3ft) to 50-00m (150ft) in less than 2 seconds. For dry environments, both the radar and acoustic transmitters will work fine to 50m, even in high dusty conditions. For wet rainy, high wind, dusty environments the acoustic transmitter is the best choice, because of the self cleaning action of the pressure wave affect.

For stockpiles up to 100m (>300ft) in height, the 4 kHz Acoustic transmitter is the only choice.

Sultan - Non Contact Level Measurement

The SULTAN is a non intrusive Acoustic Wave level measurement transmitter with flexibility used for measuring liquids and solids. Remote, Integral & SMART units available. Can operate as a 2, 3 or 4 wire system.

Guided Wave Radar Series

Pulses of low power microwaves are sent along a cable and is used as a measuring system. At the point where the wave meets the product surface it is reflected by the product. Time of Flight system design & time expansion are used for to measure the distance between the product surface and the sensor mounting position.
